A Quick Trip to the States

Jul 24, 2007

This week Maestro Maazel spends nearly half his time traveling back and forth between Europe and the States and the other half rehearsing and performing with both the New York Philharmonic and the Symphonica Toscanini.

He began the week off in Florence with rehearsals of Aida with Symphonica Toscanini, in preparation for concerts scheduled in Italy and in South America. On Wednesday, July 25, the orchestra travels to the seaside town of Pozzuoli to give a concert before Maestro Maazel departs on his long trip to Colorado where the New York Philharmonic is on their fifth annual Vail Valley Music Festival Residency. Under his baton, they will perform works by Beethoven, Elgar and Brahms on Friday, July 27. Maestro Maazel then returns to Italy for a series of concerts with Symphonica Toscanini in the Lago Maggiore area.
