Châteauville Foundation Launches New Website
Sep 10, 2007The Châteauville Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established ten years ago at Castleton Farms, Maestro Maazel's estate in Rappahannock County, Virigina, has recently launched its new website to coincide with the start of the 2007/08 season. Visitors can peruse the site for information on current and past seasons, the Foundation's upcoming Tenth Anniversary Gala (a extraordinary chamber concert featuring 12 Stradivarius instruments), sponsorship opportunities, photos of the state-of-the-art Theatre House and details about on the Foundation's newest initiative, the Castleton Residency, a young artist program and festival-in-the-making centered on fully staged chamber opera productions under the direction of Maestro Maazel.
The Foundation’s mission is to nurture young artists, foster collaborative artistic enterprise and create opportunities within the community for shared cultural experience. Over 60 performance events have been hosted by the Foundation over the last 10 years, featuring a wide range of artists and disciplines, from chamber music to theeatre to world music and jazz: Mstislav Rostropovich, Itzhak Perlman, José Carreras, Kitty Carlyle Hart, Claire Bloom, Gil & Orli Shaham, the Lokvany Dance Group from India, Randy Weston, The Cashore Marionettes, Wu Man and eighth blackbird, among many others.
