On Tour with Symphonica Toscanini

Maestro Maazel spends the next two weeks touring with Symphonica Toscanini, first in South America with visits to Brazil and Argentina, followed by ten days of travel in Japan before he returns to New York to open the season with the New York Philharmonic.

In Rio de Janeiro and Sau Paolo, the orchestra will perform Aida in concert, which they played recently on a floating stage on Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy. Other concert programs for the next couple of weeks include Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Brahms Symphony No. 1, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2, Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1, and works by Verdi, Roussel, Strauss, Respighi, Rossini and Rimsky-Korsakov.
