Philharmonic Season Finale
Jun 19, 2007This week Maestro Maazel conducts the New York Philharmonic in its final subscription week of the 2006/2007 season. The orchestra will give four concerts, June 20 through 23, performing selected songs by Richard Strauss followed by Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 7, also known as "Song of the Night". Soprano Deborah Voigt, highly acclaimed for her Strauss interpretations, is the soloist.
As the Philharmonic welcomes the summer with its Summertime Classics series and its free outdoor concerts in parks around the five boroughs of New York City, Maestro Maazel returns to Milan, Italy, with a full schedule of rehearsals and performances of La Traviata at La Scala and various concerts throughout Italy with Symphonica Toscanini. Mo. Maazel's next US appearcance will be a concert with the New York Philharmonic at the Vail Valley Music Festival in Colorado on July 27.
