The New York Philharmonic: Opening Day

Maestro Maazel and the New York Philharmonic opened the 2007/08 season with a full program of Dvořák, including his Carnival Overture, Cello Concerto with cello virtuoso Yo-Yo Ma, and Sympony No. 7. On the morning of opening night, rehearsals took place in front of an audience of the public. Free tickets were ditributed at 8:00 am, to the sounds of the Principal Brass Quintet. 

The concert was telecast nationaly on PBS as part of the popular program, Live From Lincoln Center, and was also simultaneously cast on a large screen on the plaza.
